Description: The Blurb Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction The landscape is destroyed. Nothing moves save the ash on the wind. Cruel, lawless men stalk the roadside, lying in wait. Attempting to survive in this brave new world, the young boy and his protector have nothing but a pistol to defend themselves. They must keep walking. In this unflinching study of the best and worst of humankind, Cormac McCarthy boldly divines a future without hope, but one in which, miraculously, this young family may yet find tenderness. The Book This is a RARE SIGNED 1st Print of the 1st UK hardback edition published by Picador in 2006 Cormac famously has not signed any copies of The Road, anywhere, ever, except for 250 copies that he has signed for his son John Francis, that are currently tucked somewhere away. Who knows when they might surface? So how is this one signed then? For the UK release, Cormac’s UK publisher Picador released 200 or so author-signed bookplates via agents to booksellers before the release of the book. These were loosely inserted and we can be sure that many have found their way somewhere else. This book has the bookplate affixed to title page and has the correct dimensions and characteristics required. Further information and photos available on request. This is a Fine unread example of the first UK Printing. Ever so slight toning to pages. We have loads of other fantastic Cormac McCarthy books available, including many signed copies.
