Belle Epoch Deluxe is a delay pedal that reproduces the exact circuit of the original “EP-3”. 22 volt power rail, JFET preamp (late model), mixer stage, record/playback amplifier based on high gain transistors, feedback loop... all circuits are reproduced from the EP-3 and fine-tuned to match the original sound. The only difference from the original EP-3 is the record and playback heads, which use a 24-bit high-precision delay instead of tape. To stabilize the 22V operation of the original circuit, the 9V power supply is internally boosted to 27V. All through-hole parts are used, such as Orange Drop 225P capacitors, carbon composition resistors, and germanium diodes. ●Controls ◯ECHO PROGRAM: Select from 6 types of delay types. ◯DEPTH: Sets the depth of modulation. The type of modulation applied varies depending on the ECHO PROGRAM. ◯RECORDLEVEL: This control adjusts the strength of the hit on the tape when the original sound is recorded. It only affects the effect sound and does not change the dry sound. ◯ECHO VOLUME: Maximum clockwise for maximum echo sound, minimum counterclockwise for minimum echo sound. ◯ECHO SUSTAIN: Adjusts the feedback of the delay signal. You can control the number of repeats from the minimum setting to the center. From the center onwards, the repeats continue infinitely, and you can set it higher to oscillate further. ◯ECHO DELAY: Controls the delay time. Can be set in the range of 80ms to 800ms. Designed to be operated while playing sound to create a sound similar to EP-3. If you move this control just a little, you will notice that the delay time and sustain are getting longer, just like when you lightly move the slider on an EP-3. ◯EXP: Switches the control assigned to the expression pedal. The right position (D) controls the delay time, and the left position (V) controls the delay playback volume, rotary speed, and filter sweep.
