ALCO Models HO Brass D-142 SD-40 Diesel Locomotive

Description: *None of the available SD-40 locomotives appear to have any run time other than perhaps test running only (if anything). All were tested on 8/15/24 and each one ran good in both forward & reverse. Some are a little more growly than others but most ran very well for ALCO’s of this age. Brass finish is C-8/C-9 on each. Some have slightly more tarnishing in spots (gas tank/roof/handrails) than others but all are in really clean shape and are great candidates for paint. Made by Kumata in 1971. All box’s are in excellent shape and only show minimal signs of wear from shelf storage. The original foam on each one has been replaced with upgraded REBOXX foam inserts to better protect these beauties for years to come. All Brass Locos typically need a little TLC and fine tuning, lubrication, adjustment and break-in to achieve optimal performance.
